While maritime transport is in contact with many institutions such as ports, financial institutions and organizations, shipyards, agencies, brokerage firms, state authorities, international organizations in terms of regulations of different countries in the international arena, in our country, it is also in cooperation with many ministries and institutions of the state, especially in the public field. is in a relationship.
Maritime transport is an internationally organized sector and there are many non-governmental organizations in this field. For example, around 110 countries around the world have their own shipowners' associations, and institutions such as ASA (Asian Shipowner's Association) and ECSA (European Community Shipowner's Association), where these shipowners' associations come together, dominate the industry together. There are also about 70 known international organizations operating in different fields of maritime transport.
Maritime transport is also among the fields of activity for which our consulates abroad are responsible, and can be in contact with the consulates of those states as the flag state they carry.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, which is in main relationship with the state, works closely with many Ministries such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, and the Ministry of Commerce in terms of national legislation and regulations.
From all these perspectives, maritime transport has a very large business network and the need to regulate relations within this network arises.
A sustainable financial system is necessary for the development and sustainability of the maritime transport sector. In this respect, studies are needed to develop investment models for maritime transport, to improve the investment environment, to establish relations with international and local investment, financial institutions and organizations, to solve problems in maritime transport in the field of banking, to identify and eliminate legal and regulatory gaps. .
The Foreign Relations, Public Relations and Finance Committee was established to meet all these needs.
This committee works on or carries out the following activities.
1. To introduce Turkish Maritime Transportation on national and international platforms,
2. Contributing to the regulation of relations with international maritime organizations, the protection of our sector's interests in this network, and especially participation in the studies before the regulations come into force,
3. Ensuring that the flags of different countries carried by our ships develop relations with the consulates in our country and the maritime authorities in that country,
4. Establishing a B2B, B2C and B2G network under the name of Istanbul Shipping Network and ensuring that this network is operated and brought together,
5. To produce solutions to the problems our ships encounter in foreign ports,
6. To work on improving relations with public institutions and organizations and to make on-site visits,
7. Especially in our country, to work on the legislation and draft legislation that affects or will affect our sector, to share opinions, to follow up
8. Participating in the committees formed by the ministries and presenting opinions,
9. Informing the members about one-year legislative changes every year
10. To establish working groups on finance, to have expert firms and organizations and individuals prepare reports in order to carry out the above-mentioned activities
