A further step has been taken to contribute to the digital transformation and operational excellence of the Turkish maritime sector.
A strategic cooperation agreement was signed between the Turkish Shipowners’ Association and Ari Drones Technology in a ceremony held at Teknopark Istanbul on 26 August 2025.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Cihan Ergenç, Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Shipowners’ Association; Mr. Murat Er, Vice Chairman of the Board; Mr. Hüseyin Konan, Board Member; Mr. Hüseyin Çınar, Secretary General; and Mr. Serdar Atukeren, CEO of the Turkish Shipowners’ Association Centre of Excellence. In his speech at the ceremony, our Chairman of the Board, Mr. Cihan Ergenç, stated: “The use of the FiBo-1 Freeboardmetre device—a new-generation, digital measurement product born from R&D—will provide significant advantages for our fleets by enabling precise and accurate draft measurements for our vessels. We have signed this strategic cooperation agreement both to achieve this objective and to support R&D companies in our technoparks, contributing to their development. We consistently prioritise this synergy in our relations with universities, R&D companies, and sector stakeholders.”

Through this cooperation, our members will be able to acquire the FiBo-1 device under favourable terms. Furthermore, coordinated efforts will be carried out to develop future versions of the product in line with the needs of our sector.
As the Turkish Shipowners’ Association, we will continue to support such innovative collaborations that enhance the competitiveness of our industry.
