The delegation welcomed by Mr. Ali Aytemiz, Chairman of the Board of Aytemiz Savunma, and the Company CEO, Mr. Murat Ali Tutar, was accompanied by Mr. Erdoğan Büyükbaran, Deputy General Manager of Aytemiz Makelsan, and Mr. Gökhan Kuruş.
Turkish Shipowners Association Visiting Board included President Mr. Cihan Ergenç, Vice Presidents Mr. Ali İbrahim Kontaytekin and Mr. Murat Er, Board Member Ms. Elif Uzuner, and General Secretary Mr. Hüseyin Çınar.
During the visit, discussions were held on potential collaborations in the field of marine power electronics, particularly AG-OG Static Frequency Converters, Shore Power Converters, and Power Electronics, as well as shore power supply systems in ports worldwide.
Information exchange took place regarding the products and devices that our country can nationally produce in the field of port electricity and “Cold Ironing” systems.
As the Turkish Shipowners Association, we observed firsthand that economic “Green Port” transformations and ship connections can be produced nationally.
Furthermore, under the European Union’s climate package “EU Fit for 55,” the regulation following EUETS, FuelEU Maritime, will soon require ships’ zero emissions in ports by receiving shore power supply. This will necessitate an investment in equipping all our ships with shore power supply capabilities.
